CULTURAL VALUES IN ARAI'S NOVEL IAN SANCIN'S WORK

Abstract


This study is to describe the cultural values in Arai's novel by Ian Sancin. Cultural values are one of the important values that must be preserved as national identity. However, the cultural values that exist in society are becoming forgotten in the entry of new cultures in this era of globalization. The values contained in this novel are, (a) the relationship between humans and God, (b) the relationship between humans and humans, (c) the relationship between humans and various types of research. The method used is descriptive analysis method. The data in this study are excerpts about cultural values in Arai's novel and the source of this research data is Arai's novel by Ian Sancin published by Serambi Ilmu Semesta Jakarta in 2015 totaling 502 pages. The results of the research from the theory used, the authors get 3 cultural values in the novel Arai by Ian Sancin as follow: (1) the relationship between humans and God, that is how humans relate to their creators. (2) the relationship between humans and humans, that is a relationship of mutual respect and love. (3) the relationship between humans and various, that is a relationship that shows that humans still believe in the life of another word.
