STUDENTS RESNPONSE ON USING GOOGLE CLASSROOM FOR TEACHING ENGLISH DURING ONLINE LEARNING AT SMAN 03 KOTA SOLOK

Abstract


The problem in this study is the positive and negative responses of students to the Google Classroom application when studying online by class X students at SMA N 03 Solok City. The purpose of this study was to find out what students' responses to the features in Google Classroom were, how to use them and why students gave positive and negative responses to this application. This study uses a combination of quantitative and qualitative methods with descriptive methods. The respondents in the study were 68 students of class X.MIA'1 and X.IPS'2 for the academic year 2020/2021. This study uses purposive sampling in which the researchers only focus on teachers who teach online using the Google Classroom application. Researchers used questionnaires and interviews in this study. Data collection by distributing questionnaires to 68 students using Google Form. And take 15% of all respondents to be interviewed via telephone. The point is to support the information that has been obtained in the questionnaire. The results of the questionnaire from this study showed that student responses to the features in Google Classroom and their use showed 84.19% positive and 76.90% positive.
