Analysis of Medical Discourse on Online News on Instagram Social Media

Abstract


This study aims to describe the meaning of medical terms about Covid-19. The type of research used in this study is qualitative research. The method used in this study is a descriptive method of analysis. The data in this study is in the form of words and phrases in medical terms about Covid-19 in online news on Instagram, while the source of data in this study is online news on Instagram taken on instagram accounts @cnnindonesia during the Covid-19 period from March 2020 to December 2021.Research instrumentation is an explanation of the instruments used to collect research data. The data collection technique used in this study was to use the listening method with the note-taking technique. The validity of the data is used triangulation technique. The methods used are the match method and the agih method. Based on the data analysis that has been carried out, it can be known that medical terms about Covid-19 in online news on Instagram which are used as a source of research data found as many as 56 words that are included in medical terms.
