TRAINING ON THE PREPARATION OF STUDENT LEARNING STYLE MAPPING INSTRUMENTS FOR A GROUP OF INDONESIAN LANGUAGE TEACHERS IN SMP NEGERI 16 PADANG

Abstract


The independent curriculum emphasizes differentiated learning in the learning process. This is also the case in Indonesian language learning at school. The requirements for the implementation of differentiated learning must prioritize the interests, readiness, profile, and conditions of the student's own learning environment. One of the student profiles that must be considered in the learning process is the student's learning style. For this reason, an instrument is needed to determine the learning styles of students in the classroom. Determining this learning style can make it easier for teachers to prepare methods, strategies, or techniques in teaching. SMP Negeri 16 Padang has implemented a regionalized curriculum and differentiated learning, but still has not seen the learning styles of students in the classroom because of constraints on instruments to map student learning styles. For this reason, training was conducted on the preparation of student learning style mapping instruments for groups of Indonesian language teachers. The methods used in this Community Service are guided training and discussion methods. The guided training method emphasizes the stages of regular hands-on practice so that teachers can develop instruments to map students' learning styles in the classroom. The implementation of the guided practice method includes: preparation stage, implementation stage, and completion stage.
