COUNSELING ON CLASSROOM ACTION RESEARCH FOR THE PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT OF TEACHERS AT STATE SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL I IN NORTH SEBERUT, MENTAWAI DISTRICT

Abstract


Teachers play a crucial role in enhancing the quality of learning experiences. Various efforts have been, are currently being, and will continue to be made to achieve this, with one of the key strategies being the enhancement of teacher competence through Classroom Action Research (CAR) counseling. The objective of CAR counseling is to empower teachers in their learning development skills. By strengthening their capacity to design effective learning experiences, it is believed and expected that the overall quality of education will be significantly enhanced.CAR counseling follows a participatory and collaborative approach, incorporating three stages of ongoing and scheduled activities according to a predetermined plan. Technical assistance is provided during counseling sessions to equip teachers with the necessary skills to conduct CAR. This simulation-based method is employed throughout the counseling process, aligning with the ultimate goal. Evaluation results demonstrate the successful implementation and smooth progression of the counseling activities. Through active participation in CAR counseling, teachers can enhance their ability to carry out classroom action research, thus contributing to their professional development.
